چکیده
To reveal the changes in gut microbiota of yellow catfish after being infected by Edwardsiella ictaluri, 16S rRNA gene high-throughput sequencing technology was used to analyze microbial composition and diversity healthy diseased catfish. The richness fish were significantly lower than those fish. predicted function drastically altered infection E. ictaluri. Fusobacteriota, Proteobacteria, Firmicutes predominant bacterial phyla fish, while Proteobacteria dominant phylum At genus level, dominated Cetobacterium, Plesiomonas, Romboutsia, overwhelmed pathogenic ictaluri (99.22 ± 0.85%), Romboutsia disappeared. This is most characteristic feature intestinal edwardsiellosis. same sequence detected intestine liver anaerobic Gram-positive bacteria decreased, digestive system, immune metabolic functions reduced gut. may be part pathogenesis

Columnaris Disease: A Bacterial Infection Caused by Flavobacterium columnare
Columnaris disease is the second leading cause of mortality in pond raised catfish in the southeastern United States. It is second only to enteric septicemia of catfish (ESC) caused by the bacterium Edwardsiella ictaluri. Most species of fish are susceptible to columnaris following some type of environmental stress and when water temperatures are in the upper part of their preferred temperature...
متن کاملThe Role of Edwardsiella ictaluri TonB Mutant in Edwardsiella ictaluri Virulence
Edwardsiella ictaluri is a Gram-negative facultative intracellular pathogen that causes enteric septicemia in catfish (ESC). Stress factors including poor water quality, poor diet, rough handling, overcrowding, and water temperature fluctuations increase fish susceptibility to ESC. The TonB energy transducing system (TonB-ExbB-ExbD) and TonB-dependent transporters of Gram-negative bacteria supp...

متن کاملStress-related genes promote Edwardsiella ictaluri pathogenesis
Edwardsiella ictaluri is a Gram-negative facultative anaerobic rod and the causative agent of enteric septicemia of channel catfish (ESC), which is one of the most prevalent diseases of catfish, causing significant economic losses in the catfish industry. E. ictaluri is resistant to complement system and macrophage killing, which results in rapid systemic septicemia. However, mechanisms of E. i...
متن کاملInfluence of the Dietary Level of Iron from Iron Methionine and Iron Sulfate on Immune Response and Resistance of Channel Catfish to Edwardsiella ictaluri
Channel catfish Ictalurus punctatus fingerlings were fed purified diets supplemented with iron at levels of 0, 20, 60, and 180 mgkg from iron sulfate (FeS) or 5, 10, 20, 60, and 180 mgkg from iron methionine (FeM) in triplicate tanks for 8 wk. Fish were then divided into two groups and subjected to different assays to measure disease resistance and individual immune functions. Representative fi...
